INTEL ATOM SMALL BUT POWERFUL 
The lastest update is that intel lanuching its newest microprocessor codenamed silverthorne. Commercially named intel atom, the chip is creammed with 47 milion processor ! intel designed 2500 chips to fit on an area smaller than your fingertip. (pic)
This chip is designed to support mobile internet devices and simple low, low-cost PCs or laptops. Intel atom consumes less battery power, yet has more processing power. New products using this itsybitsy processor are acer aspire Ultra-Mobile PC and asustek Eee PC 901. Intel Atom is not without competition. NVIDA released its tegra line of processor in june 2008, which they claim is better than Atom, especially in performance and power consumption. Tegra uses a technology that is aplied in handle device such as PDAs and cellphones, and GPS tracking device and game system such as nitendo DS.
But now intel has announced that it will release intel atom`s next generation, codenamed pineview, in 2009. Well, wherever this ”war” is going, be prepared for small everyday devices thanks to small chips.
